Apati – Morgondagen inställd i brist på intresse

I refuse to even attempt a pronunciation of this album title, and the group in question, Apati, are new to me. And whoever said understanding what a band were saying was even remotely required for enjoying the music? The music within is perfectly boisterous, colourful and vivid without attempting pronunciation. This is another new release from the holy Total Holocaust records, one of my all time favorite Black Metal record labels – so naturally I knew I had to give it a go. What greeted me (judging immediately from the MP3 of Syndafloden) is Lifelover inspired, depressive post-rock with vocals that at times include a lonely dude practically crying down the microphone. COUGH. I can excuse that though, just give the mp3 a listen, its full of life, melody and a great sense of joy amidst all the misanthropic depressive attitudes. Highly recommended.

Again, available for 10 Euros / $12 from Total Holocaust, theres a limited bundle pack you can purchase which includes a cassette version of the album (along with the CD) handnumbered out of 50 including your own name. Both of these new releases – ordered, and with new Heresi on the way I can only hope and pray this label returns to its former glory. Plucked straight from the THR site:

The second fix of Apati is finally at hand. So while the surface of your skin breaks from this sharpened needle and the music finds its way through your circulatory system, you will get to experience one of the most melancholic and yet so delicately destructive works of art. As we slowly reach that flat line, as we slowly wither, this concrete – this asphalt fills our mind and we are consumed by the black tar. Feel the inspiration of nothingness, feel the embrace of Apati. Presented in both a digipak feature and a normal jewel case version. Comes with a 20 page booklet all designed by Emil Tibell. Both the digipak and the jewel case version is limited to 500 copies. Also the album can be ordered bundled together with the official cassette version of this album – these cassettes are limited to 50 copies and will all come handnumbered and your name will be written on the copy.

You'll find me in the vast wilderness of British Columbia, talking metal at LURKER, or working in publishing and front-end web/eBook development.

Syndafloden sounds like a total rip off of Hypothermia's "Kaffe & Blod".

Nope, it's a total rip off of Hypothermia's "Svenskt Vemod". (According to Apati they have never heard the song before.)

Apati's other album, Eufori, is one I really like (I'm Swedish however). Haven't given this one a listen though.
"Morgondagen inställd i brist pÃ¥ intresse" translates into something like "Tomorrow canceled due to lack of interest" – sounds great in Swedish.

Of course “Apati” have heard the song “Svenskt Vemod” by Hypothermia. All the songs on “Morgondagen…” are rip-off’s from different bands. I actually knew the guy before and he was crazy and in love with both Hypothermia and Lifelover.

You should list all of the bands that Apati ripped off if you come with such statement.
