Thomas Cole

Thomas Cole (1801 – 1848) was an English-born American artist. He founded the Hudson River School, an artistic movement that became known for realistic and detailed depictions of American landscapes. His own work also features many fantastical environments. A western Ivan Shishkin if you will.
