Jason Byron to handle lyrics for new Kayo Dot EP

Ever the genius, Toby Driver has recently revealed that ex-maudlin of the Well vocalist, Jason Byron will be contributing lyrics for Kayo Dot’s new EP, Stained Glass. This may well prove a move forward for fans who have missed Byron’s presence since the first two Kayo Dot albums. I think I can count myself among them, the lyrics on Choirs of the Eye and Dowsing… are my all time favourites in their wistful mystery and as standalone poetry.
“Our eyelashes weaken with a weight that is sweet and fine,
And this feels like frogs and spiders in the sweet outside.
Tell me why world, unfathomable and good,
The beauty of everything is infinite and cruel.

An airplane, a puppet, an orange, a spoon,
A window, and outside
Stars and the moon.”

From the end of Kayo Dot’s Marathon.
I get a shiver down my spine every time without fail.

Hates music and writing. Unfortunately, he's a journalist.
